BMW M6 uses Launch Control. Revs wihout a gear up tp around 4000 rpm then when I release the shift the car launches and … all » shifts automatically all the way up to the limit. Gas pedal is depressed all the way. Continental tyres, worn tyres and cold ground (below 8 degrees) did make the 1st gear spin until second gear. We race a standard Porsche 911 Turbo (996). The BMW M6 is priced around £80,000. The oppostion (Ferrari 612 and 599 are over £100,000. Porsche 911 GT3 is also about £80,000.)

Why the CABRIOLET models of BMW like M3 and M6 are a lot heavier than the COUPE?

For example M6 coupe weighs around 1.76 ton but M6 cabriolet around 2 ton.The same goes for the M3(coupe 1.6 ton cabriolet 1.87 ton)
What is the reason of this extra weight?
