Saleen S5S Raptor – New York Auto Show – Kelley Blue Book Interviews David Byron
FORMORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS VISIT: www.kbb.com Saleen S5S Raptor. According to Saleen, a production version of their latest supercar concept could be on the road in two years, cost just shy of $200000, and go from zero to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds on its way to a top speed beyond 200 mph. The 200-mph engine is a supercharged 5.0-liter engine that puts out 650 horsepower, 630 pound-feet of torque and runs on ethanol. That green-tinged energy is sent through a six-speed manual or optional paddle-shifting sequential transmission. Accompanying the bright yellow paint is a set of 20-inch wheels with a carbon fiber finish, sheltering big 15-inch brake rotors in front and 13-inchers at the rear. Kelley Blue Book’s Micah Muzio walks around the latest Saleen with designer David Byron. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit kbb.com today.
2010 Ford Shelby GT500 – Kelley Blue Book
FOR MORE AUTO SHOW NEWS & REVIEWS VISIT: www.kbb.com/autoshow 2010 Ford Shelby GT500. Not two months after unveiling the restyled 2010 Mustang, Ford pulled the wraps off the latest version of its Shelby GT500 super-’Stang. As if the previous version’s 500 horsepower wasn’t enough, these new GT500 coupes and convertibles pack a projected 540 pavement-ripping ponies from their supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter V8, while delivering about two more miles per gallon on the highway. Peak torque has increased from 480 to 510 lb.-ft. and the rear-axle’s standard ratio increased from 3.31:1 to 3.55:1, promising truly scary acceleration. Outside, the reworked heetmetal is augmented with a new functional extractor to vent under-hood heat and a “Gurney Flap” rear spoiler. Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) says it used the 40th anniversary Shelby GT500KR “King of the Road” Mustangs as its performance starting point and built from there.
