2009 Nissan 370Z, New Details Revealed

READ MORE @ www.edmunds.com As we guessed when we first saw pictures of the new car circulating the Nürburgring in 2007, the forthcoming Z is a lot shorter. When the current, fifth-generation 350Z was first introduced in 2003, its long 104.3-inch wheelbase was a subject of some controversy. Nissan had followed the lead of the Corvette C5 in adopting a long-wheelbase platform as a measure to enhance stability at ultra high speeds.

Hot 2011 BMW Z4 M Revealed HQ

Hot 2011 BMW Z4 M Revealed HQ Song: Gudda Gudda – Raw Instrumental Enjoy & Comment! This is the new range-topping BMW Z4, which will be launched at the Detroit motor show. The snappily titled Z4 sDrive 35is gets a 335bhp version of the 3.0-litre straight six, with an overboost function increasing torque from 332lb ft to 369lb ft. And the 332lb ft is available from just 1400rpm, which should give the car the torque characteristics of a big diesel. That gives the Z4 performance to closely match the M3 and M5; it hits 62mph in 4.8sec. As with all BMWs, top speed is limited to 155mph. Transmission is a seven-speed double-clutch unit. The car also has the sound to match its performance. BMW describes its specially developed exhaust, which features sound flaps and modifications to the silencers, as giving “powerful acoustic feedback”. The new model makes use of Efficient Dynamics tech, including brake enegy regeneration and electric power steering, to average 31.4mpg, and it emits 210g/km of CO2. The car also gets an M Sports Package and M suspension as standard, which lowers the car by 10mm, and retuned electric steering. Exterior trim changes include new front and rear lower bumpers and a new style of 18-inch alloys. Regardless of the exterior colour of the car, it will always be supplied with silver mirror caps. The BMW Z4 sDrive 35is will go on sale in the spring. No prices have been announced.

Nissan 370Z Convertible Revealed @ 2009 New York Auto Show

MORE 2009 NYAS @ INSIDELINE.COM: www.edmunds.com Nissan has yet to officially unveil the all-new 2009 Nissan 370Z coupe, and Inside Line is already providing details on the 2010 Nissan 370Z convertible. Unlike the Infiniti G37 drop top, which uses a retractable hardtop, the future 370Z convertible will incorporate a power-operated soft top. The fabric top will likely keep the new Z convertible from getting an exorbitant bump in price, and more importantly, will prevent the newly smaller Z from taking on any unnecessary pounds. The new sixth-generation Z cut its wheelbase by approximately 4 inches, so it’s necessary for the convertible to keep its weight down. The 370Z convertible is expected to share a powertrain with the 370Z coupe, likely to be the same 3.7-liter Nissan VQ engine that’s already providing power to the G37 coupe and sedan. A seven-speed automatic and a six-speed manual transmission will be offered, same as in the G. Although the G37 added an all-wheel-drive option this year in the form of the G37x, the 370Z will continue to use rear-wheel drive only.
